Joey’s Elder Paws: Seniors, Bonded & “Pit Bull” Dog Rescue

EVERY DOG MATTERSat Joey’s Elder Paws Rescue. Dogs are family. No dog should be alone with no family. We partner with some wonderful rescue groups to save dogs by sponsoring their vet bills and rehabilitation expenses. We are willing to do the hard work and help middle aged and senior dogs, bonded dogs and ‘pit-bull’ type dogs.

Seniors are the group most overlooked for adoption due to shorter life expectancy and unknown medical needs, and are at risk for euthanasia. Most senior dogs, if given a chance, can live out their remainder years with a good quality of life. Since older dogs make such wonderful, calm pets, we partner with our rescue group friends  to rehome them with loving families, who will treasure them in their golden years.

Bonded dogs have a special place in our hearts. We  help bonded dogs abandoned at shelters, as they have a harder time getting adopted out together. Since two is better than one, we would like to find good forever homes for bonded dogs, with that special family that will cherish and enjoy their special bond that brings double the love.

Pit Bull dogs are so much more than their breed. “Pit Bull” type dogs have the hardest time getting adopted at shelters and that too only if they are not euthanized upon arrival. The statistics are horrific. About 75% of municipal shelters euthanize pit bulls immediately upon intake, without them ever having any chance at adoption. Each year, 1.2 million dogs are euthanized, approximately 40% of whom are Pit Bulls. This means that nearly half a million Pit Bull-type dogs are killed in shelters annually. Our goal is to help other dog friendly Pit Bull type dogs by networking and sponsoring their freedom.
