AWCS

Animals Welfare and Care Services (AWCS) has emerged as one of the best animal rescue and treatment shelters (NGO) in Amritsar, Punjab, India, where their team of experts and volunteers work tirelessly to rescue injured indie dogs. At the AWCS shelter free treatment is provided to injured stray dogs. AWCS’ motto is to spread awareness about animals welfare and rights among people and educate the children about compassion.

AWCS has partnered with HEAL Foundation to expand their operations and become the first animal rescue NGO of its kind in Punjab, India, to raise funds to help livestock farmers.

All donations are 100% tax deductible under section 501(c)(3).
A generous supporter has donated land to AWCS in the holy city of Amritsar, bringing us closer to our goal to create the first free veterinary clinic to help poverty-stricken livestock farmers. We now need to raise $100,000 (Rs. 82 lacs) to construct a much needed operation theater and cowshed.
• Official studies show as many as 86% of farmers and 80% of agricultural labor households are mired in debt*
• A majority of dairy farmers operate as small and marginal businesses with less than 4 cows
• There are no veterinary clinics to help these farmers even if their cows become sick with minor or treatable illnesses
• Lack of veterinary help causes extreme hardship and threatens the livelihood of farmers and their families, as each cow costs about $1,000
We can only rise to the challenge to help farmers in Punjab if we have kind supporters like you by our side.
