We helped Stacks, the sweetest, gentlest senior who was ❌Urgent❌ with trauma to his leg and jaw (drools uncontrollably), growth on his neck and tummy and ear infections with a Joey & Oreo HEAL Grant. He is now safe with Destiny's Hope Animal Rescue and our grant covered $1,000 of his $1,525 bill❤️🙏 (https://www.facebook.com/groups/190039821025021/permalink/2994971567198485/) We hate to say no and do our due diligence to help the most neediest of cases. Payments are paid directly to the vet for for pet parents and/or on proof of vet receipts to 501c3 rescues meeting our criteria. Thanks to your support and generosity, we are truly able to make a difference and save lives. Thank you for your help! #HEALFoundationUSA #HumanityEmpathyAnimalLove #HEAL #JoeyAndOreoHEALGrants...
We see the worst and best of humans in animal rescue. 💔❤️The very lows and highs. It’s the highs that keep us animal advocates and rescuers going. How we’d love to save them all. But so many times we’re too late or just not able too. It truly takes a village, all the behind the scenes action and coordination to save a life!! In this case it was an awesome team of animal advocates who went above and beyond to bring four dogs to safety. Four dogs who’d spent years behind shelter walls to go to a sanctuary, which was sadly closing down. Third time is a charm for these pups 🙏🏻 We could only have done this together. No “I” in “RESCUE”. Happy new life to Jordan and Hunter safe with @ulstercountycanines! To Jaidyn safe with Furry Friends Foster and Rescue Inc! To Maisie safe with her amazing foster! THANK YOU to everyone involved in this almost Herculean task! ...
Twelve year old Charlie has a neurological condition and was dragging himself along the floor forcefully. He had severe pain and cuts and abrasions from dragging himself. His owner, a war veteran from New York City reached out to the H.E.A.L. Foundation for help for his beloved companion. We arranged for Charlie to be examined at the Animal Medical Center in NYC and was given pain meds and an ointment. We also ordered a custom wheelchair that Charlie needed and he is now back to his old self again enjoying his golden years. ...
❤️Mistery and Watson😍 from Impound #436 and #41 at the Waterbury Municipal Dog Pound, CT to freedom, love and their very own names!! Mistery and Watson are sponsored by H.E.A.L. at Suruluna Animal Rescue's sanctuary in Pine Bush, NY! Both dogs need vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries, which will be covered by us. We will keep you updated on their journey to their forever homes! #HEAL #HumanityEmpathyAnimalLove ...
A Joey & Oreo HEAL Grant was made to the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter's medical fund, in order to help these four dogs escape certain death. The rescue efforts, vetting and transport from Texas was painstakingly coordinated by Zen Dog CT. All four dogs are the friendliest of pups and are in Connecticut now and available for adoption. Please email Mvonstein@comcast.net...
Together we can HEAL more. Love when rescues work together. 🙏🏻❤️Ace belongs to a disabled veteran, who saved him from a roadside in TX. He is dearly beloved by his family and got loose from his home and he was hit by not one, but two cars! Ace had a shattered femur and needed extensive and very expensive surgery. Our ♥Joey & Oreo HEAL Fund♥ donated over 50% of the surgery costs thanks to the advocacy efforts of The Jamie Bug & Tobster Foundation❤️🐶 Ace got his surgery and is now home! He is recovering very nicely and the vet is pleased with his progress. Ace's dad sadly had to sell his car 🚗 to pay the remainder of Ace's vet bill. He is one dedicated dad and we respect him for doing what needed to be done to help his baby! It is because of caring individuals like YOU that make it possible for us to post updates like this and for us to continue to help pets stay with their family!...
❤️Update on Trooper, the “miracle dog” with the chew toy stuck in his intestines for OVER a month…he went for a post-surgery check-up and the vet gave him a clean bill of health! This big boy is back home and loving life sans chew toys 😝 Trooper lost over 20lbs as his family desperately sought help with his surgery costs and were even willing to give him up to save his life😥. Our ♥Joey & Oreo HEAL Fund♥ stepped in to cover his surgery. As the vet operated on Trooper, she noticed how badly shredded and entangled the chew toy was in intestines. She called him a “miracle dog” and was surprised how Trooper had made it so far without his body shutting down. You helped us HEAL Trooper and gave him a second chance at life with his loving family! Thank you for all your support in helping us keep families and pets together!...
We helped Clyde have the emergency surgery he needed. Our ♥Joey & Oreo HEAL Fund♥ matched up to $1,500 of funds raised. A few nights ago, Furry Friends Foster and Rescue Inc and Project Precious Rescue (PPR) worked together to save Clyde. He lived most of his short 1 year old life being used as a breeder dog, left bleeding for months without help. PPR brought him into their rescue. He needed urgent, life-saving surgery to repair a prolapsed urethra. Clyde has already been let down once - thank you for helping us HEAL him and give him a second chance at life! ...
Our mission is ♥HEAL🐾. Humanity. Empathy. Animal Love. Our #JoeyAndOreoHEALFund operates under our “Humanity” mission where we help address human issues underlying animal suffering and homelessness. 😥 A few days ago, Marie R. our board member and volunteer extraordinaire was approached by an acquaintance for help to get his senior dog euthanized as he could not afford it. He’d had Samantha, a large breed GS mix, since she was a puppy and it was time to let her go. 💔 We helped cover the bill to let Samantha go over the rainbow bridge. This is what her owner wrote “Thank you ever so much. I do appreciate it. This hasn't been a good year. I lost my home my wife. My marriage. My dog. Again thank you for showing me mercy. Have a good day.”😥💔 That afternoon this beautiful rainbow appeared in honor of Samantha. RIP sweet girl! You are very much missed. ❤️...
Today we had the honor to drive Simon for the first leg of his freedom journey to The Devoted Barn. Simon had been incarcerated at the Guilford, CT animal shelter for almost two years for PROTECTING his home. It was a bittersweet moment for Simon’s family, who never gave up on getting him freed. ❤️💔 Simon was THRILLED to get out of the shelter and jumped right into the car. But when he saw his family walk away he started howling. It was truly, truly heart wrenching!!! The same old story of dogs being taken away from their owners under CT’s antiquated animal control laws. #JusticeForRose #FreeKatoAndKleo and now #SaveSimon. So many others we don’t know about and cannot advocate for….WHEN WILL THIS STOP? WHEN?? 👿 SIMON IS FINALLY FREE!! We should be happy, but our tears haven’t stopped at the unfairness of it all. 😥We wish Simon the best on his journey. THANK YOU to Coco Ring, who spearheaded this effort to #SaveSimon. Ken Bernhard of Cohen and Wolf, P.C. Most of all to the loving and so very dignified Dr. Young and family, who fought so hard for Simon and today let him walk away from them to freedom. ...
WE HAVE OFFERED TO MATCH UP TO $1,500 (50%) OF THIS FUNDRAISER. Please share and donate, so Connect A Pet New England can continue their life saving work!!! We’re proud and honored to support this rescue and its awesome founder Cecelia Blake, who WALKS THE TALK and never shys away from dogs in need. 😇Cecilia stepped up to rescue two TBD dogs from the Waterbury, CT shelter, when we highlighted the abysmal conditions at the pound. SHE ALSO HELPED US REHOME #CeeCeeAndCeaser, two bonded pit bulls that we rescued from certain death when their elderly owner Andrew got dementia. 😥 Bottomline….Connect-A-Pet helps dogs that no one else does. They recently rescued 3 medical cases from NYCACC who ended up costing over $10,000 and have raised very little funds. Sadly, they will not be able to save any more dogs with medical needs till the vet bills are paid off. Please help! Thank you!!🙏❤️ #CeeCeeAtHEAL #CeasarAtHEAL #JoeysElderPaws #JEP #JoeyAndOreoHEALFund #HumanityEmpathyAnimalLove #HEALNow #WeRescueSeniorBondedandPitbullTypeDogs #KeepingPetsOutofShelters #TeachHEAL #HumaneEducationTeachHEAL #TeachHEALBuildingUpOurYouth ...
